'Bleu de chauffe' is the name of the blue jacket worn by French engine drivers when boiling the water to increase the pressure of the steam engine in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In a broader sense, this is the jacket worn by factory workers and locomotive drivers. A popular French expression is: 'mettre son bleu de chauffe' - to put on your work jacket/ to get stuck into work.
