For their Autumn/Winter 2018 collection W'Menswear have travelled to the exotic, culturally rich and diverse Kathmandu, drawing inspiration from the beautiful Nepalese colours, smells and tastes. The collection includes beautiful one of a kind sheepskin pieces exquisitely made in Scotland, the finest herringbone cotton in pleated kilt and culotte shapes, and durable and weather proof waxed cottons in oversized but sharp coverall silhouettes. The colours are a palette of clear water grey, dried leaf army green, and early morning pale sky blues.

On the collection, designer Lauren Yates writes:

"Juniper berry smoke dances, floating upwards into the dusty
atmosphere of the Kathmandu Valley, spreading its tentacles wide
before dispersing into nothingness. A young calf calls for its mother
across from a busy dirt road that bridges hillside to hillside, the
calls are drowned by charging motorbikes and roaring truck motors.

Mysterious currents guide vendors, travellers, pilgrims, and refugees through the valley. Their many faces call from neighbouring Tibet to further Bangalore.

A freckled albino man approaches to sell his wooden flutes, as a leathery faced woman sweeps dust onto the street by my feet.

The sun settles beyond snow capped mountains on the horizon, and the first blue blood moon in a century, lights the night sky with its brilliant glow. The smokey air loses its spice, thinning by the crisp night’s air, as the demons of today curl into their shells, and wave goodbye to time for now. - From 'The Valley of Kathmandu' by W'menswear."

If that doesn't set the scene and have you booking a trip to the depths of the Himalayas, I don't know what will! At the very least we hope it draws you into store to explore the collection which is available now, and online so soon. In the meantime you can immerse yourself in the gorgeous lookbook photos shot on location in Kathmandu below, and shop W'Menswear seasons here.
